US Customers:
If there is one sidearm that has completely taken over CQB arenas and outdoor skirmishes in recent years, it is the Action Army AAP-01 Assassin. Drawing design inspiration from classic Ruger target pistols while incorporating modern Glock-style internals, this pistol delivers elite performance at an unbeatable price point.
Key Specifications
- Gas Type: Green Gas / Propane
- Firing Modes: Semi-Automatic, Full-Automatic
- Muzzle Velocity: ~310 – 330 FPS (with 0.20g BBs)
- Magazine Capacity: 22 rounds (TM/WE Glock spec compatible)
- Hop-Up: Adjustable
- Slide Material: Lightweight reinforced polymer with internal cycling bolt
Why It Stands Out
Unlike traditional slide-cycling pistols, the AAP-01 utilizes a lightweight internal blowback bolt. This means significantly less reciprocating mass, faster cycle rates, phenomenal gas efficiency, and consistent sight tracking even in cold weather. Best of all, flipping the selector under the bolt activates full-auto fire.
Pros & Cons
- Pros: Insanely affordable, massive aftermarket support (carbine kits, CNC bolts, HPA adapters), Tokyo Marui Glock mag cross-compatibility.
- Cons: Stock hammer assembly can wear quickly on prolonged full-auto spamming; quirky exterior aesthetic isn't for military purists.
Verdict: Whether you are looking for an ultra-reliable sidearm or a baseline platform to build an aggressive CQB primary, the AAP-01 is one of the highest-value gas pistols available on retailers like Evike and RedWolf.
